Oral plastic surgery aims to improve the functionality and appearance of the gums and teeth. The surgery is performed by Dr Matthew Nolan in the dental practice using local anaesthetic, and typically requires no downtime.
Oral Plastic Surgery can be used to halt and repair gum recession, to lengthen the crown of the tooth (to improve the appearance of a ‘gummy smile’), and to improve the chance of success as well as the appearance of dental implants.
Following the procedure, gums are usually fully healed and repaired within 10 to 12 weeks.
